POSITION: SEASONAL MEDICINAL GARDEN WORKER
A project of the Foundation for Agricultural Integrity, Churchtown Dairy is looking for two seasonal garden workers to join our medicinal garden team.
Churchtown Dairy has dedicated two acres to the growing of medicinal plants to bring care, health, and beauty to the landscape and to people. The gardens, as well as the farm, are managed using biodynamic methods.
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
The seasonal medicinal gardens worker is part of a team of gardeners completing tasks of gardening, processing and other tasks needed to run the Medicinal Gardens at the Churchtown Dairy. The worker has the opportunity to learn about gardening, medicinal plants, and biodynamics in a hands-on way while working. The position runs from April through November, 40 hours a week.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic horticultural skills and previous hands-on gardening experience

Specifically interested in working with medicinal plants

Prepared to work in extreme weather (heat, sun, wind, etc.) with times of physical exertion

Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Willing to learn all aspects of the work with the goal of becoming proficient in some specialized tasks

Able to follow precise and sometimes complex instructions

Willing and able to work as part of a team

Relates to the organization of Churchtown Dairy
