Jean-David Derreumaux has been involved with farming, plants and biodynamics since the mid 1970’s in the context of Camphill Communities in France and the US, and in other contexts since 2005. Daniele Laberge (Biodynamic herbalist in Quebec) and Dennis Klocek (Biodynamic alchemist in California) have been his close mentors all along, supporting his fascination for the deeper reality of the plant kingdom. For the last 28 years he has centered his work around medicinal plants and brought about healing gardens and associated workshops. In Camphill Village Copake, NY (The Healing Plant), at The Center for Discovery in Sullivan County, NY, and since 2017 at Churchtown Dairy in the Hudson Valley. There a 3-acre garden provide a place where anyone can come, meet and learn from plants, offering a large number of medicinal species for the making of extracts for the Uriel pharmacy, fresh or dry plants and hydrosols to other companies as well as for selling products on site.
