Consecrated Foods is looking for 2-3 interns for training in biodynamics and working in our BD community garden. The Internship is a part-time, 4-5 day a week mornings which allows interns time to pursue a part-time job or other interests in the national parks of Utah. Additional requirements require proof of health insurance coverage, a commitment of 3 months and 3 letters of reference and your own transportation. Interns will live on-site in a very nice 5th wheel and includes meals, working with the elderly, monthly potlucks, celebrations and festivals, classes in biodynamics, herbs, food preparation, bread making and others. There is 1-2 hours evening work depending on the nature of the season. Couples who wish to grow and learn together are welcome to apply also. Our garden manager, Kristi Albright, has her own biodynamic teaching garden and has taught biodynamics at the local Snow College as well as holistic nutrition, herbs, and Star Wisdom.
Skills desired: An interest in learning, living in a rural area, a cheerful attitude (of gratitude), communal living and physically fit.
Meals: Food from locally-sourced (as well as Consecrated Foods Garden) are available and provided: raw milk, eggs, dairy, and vegetables; the main lunch meal is provided as we eat together and all other food provided for your preparation in your kitchen.
There is a small stipend for phone costs and laundry including the room and board; Consecrated Foods is expanding and building two new hoop houses this year. Interns will help with the planting and rotating of vegetable crops as well as creating a farmer's market for this area. This could lead to full-time work in growing and marketing for those motivated to stay who love the area and land!
